Job Description

SUMMARY:

The Housekeeping Supervisor is responsible for all Supervisory duties in the Housekeeping Department. This includes inspecting guest rooms and ensuring they are clean and properly presented. Checking for Maintenance needs and seeing that they are taken care of.  He or she should be able to resolve guest complaints, general office duties, etc. A minimum of 1 year of hotel experience and excellent communication skills are preferred. The Housekeeping Supervisor must promote a professional attitude at all times.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Report to the Housekeeping Manager.
  • Prepare daily paper work for yourself and room assignments for your team members.
  • Ensure staff has the tools and equipment to effectively carry out their duties.
  • Inspect all guest rooms.
  • Inspect storage rooms and room attendant carts for neatness, cleanliness, adequate supplies and good repair.
  •  Complete all paperwork as needed.
  • Must sign room attendants and houseman’s paperwork at the end of the day.
  • May perform all housekeeping duties necessary including making beds, vacuuming and cleaning guest rooms to ensure guest satisfaction.
  • Other duties as assigned.

  • Must call in 2 hours before your shift if unable to work.
  • Must not punch in before your scheduled start time.
  • Must be able to lift, bend, stoop and kneel.
  • Knowledge of cleaning procedures and chemicals use.
  • Ability to plan and schedule work and special projects.
  • Ability to Supervise and manage a substantial work force.
  • Ability to judge supplies and equipment needs in maintaining stock level.
